Every child is known
We take time to understand each child’s routines, interests, comforts and individual next steps.
About Little Leaps
Since 2012, Little Leaps has helped children feel safe, happy and confident as they begin exploring the world around them.

Our story
Little Leaps was established in 2012 with a simple belief: children thrive when they feel secure, valued and free to be themselves.
Across our Basildon and Grays settings, we work to create the warmth of a home-from-home alongside thoughtful early education. Children are encouraged to explore, make choices, build friendships and grow in confidence—with caring adults close by to guide, support and celebrate them.
As Little Leaps has grown, that family feeling has remained at the heart of everything we do.
What matters to us
These principles shape how we welcome families, plan experiences and care for every child.
We take time to understand each child’s routines, interests, comforts and individual next steps.
Play, conversation and discovery create meaningful learning without taking the wonder out of childhood.
Open, respectful relationships help children experience consistency between home and nursery.
Safe practice, attentive practitioners and a nurturing environment underpin every part of the day.
Independent reassurance
Choosing childcare is a significant decision. Families can review our current Ofsted information directly, alongside meeting our team and visiting the setting for themselves.
At its June 2024 inspection, the Basildon provision was rated Good across overall effectiveness, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
The report describes a nurturing, stimulating environment where children are happy, supported and encouraged to explore.
Read the Basildon reportThe current Grays registration opened in April 2025 and has not yet received its first inspection report. We will publish and link to its inspection information when Ofsted makes it available.
For clarity: the former Grays registration was rated Good in February 2023, but that registration is now closed. The status above reflects the current provider record.

The Little Leaps experience
Our environments are arranged so children can reach resources, follow their interests and make choices throughout the day. Practitioners notice what sparks each child’s curiosity, then use those moments to support communication, movement, problem-solving, imagination and relationships.
Basildon & Grays
Each nursery has its own rhythms and community, with the same commitment to helping children feel welcome, understood and ready for their next step.
